$130 for a next gen console is not a big difference at all! I'm in Australia... $270? Which SKU? The 12gb? Some are only $150 in difference... Only a fool would buy the PS3 for the small amount compared to the hardware you'd be getting. PS4 is selling with a loss, not a huge one but it's at least decent in size meanwhile the PS3 is not. 400-500 in tech, at wholesale prices against the PS3? LOL

The choice is obvious.

The 320GB PS3 is $278 vs $549 for the PS4. Say what you want but, at the end of the day, people are still buying the PS3 despite the PS4 announcement. How do you explain that? Dude, despite all the 3DS domination in Japan, the PS3 is keeping with it. Even better - a GT game is coming out this holiday season.

Also, how do you know how much of a loss, if any, the PS4 is taking?

You're kidding right? I really shouldn't have to answer this... It's more expensive then the X1 yet the PS4 will sell for $100 less. Sony also said they don't want to take a massive loss. The components are estimated to be around $400, not including shipping, advertising, manufacturing... It's obvious they're taking a decent hit from the PS4. A 2 minute Google search would have cleared all that up.

I found this 320gb SKU worth $288, that's $261 difference. The best choice is still the PS4 for most Sony gamers, not so much for Sony though. The PS3 is doing well now, what about after the PS4 is released? Most people have absolutely no idea they're coming yet until they're heavily advertized on TV. The gamers on the online forums are the minority, don't fool yourself into thinking otherwise.
