YES THEY ARE! Its unbelievable people are defending the online checks and used game policy, really unbelievable.

Even if I had a perfect connection which I and millions of others dont, the 24h check would still suck! I dont want to be restricted in any kind of form.

The feeling alone that I need to check in with MS every 24h to play my 60 euro game is putting me off, and so should it you.

Your phone checks in and if you don't pay your bill your phone is worthless. So you accept that.

Your phone is not useless though, to add to the things the2real4mafol and Turkish have said. The only implication if you do that is that cannot call (or send text messages to) anyone anymore. I could still do everything else.

And that's the point. All the restrictions limit the player from doing what he/she wants to do. Maybe not now, but it will in the future. What happens in a couple of years when Microsoft decides to no longer support some game or the service itself altogether? You're basically left with a brick. There's no way to justify that, as there is absolutely no reason to limit the player into using the most core aspects of the (a) system; single-player gaming and media functions. Why must it do that? It's just there to tease you, basically what Cobretti2 and bonkers555 said. If they really want to go with this online integration, the only implication should have been, if something goes wrong or cancelled, the loss of multiplayer gaming functionality. And that's a big one already.

Not to mention the used-games fiasco and Big Brother issues that come with it and the Kinect requirements.
