Publishers? EA has stated that they never asked for M.S. to use their DRM, it was all Microsoft's idea. As well as the part about only giving a game to some who has been on your gamer friends list for at least 1 month, and then the game will be locked from further sharing. And the required authentication online before playing a game, and checking once a day with M.S. before playing the game you bought at Target, which is spinning around in your new Xbox One, to make sure your neighbor didn't loan you the disk. That's what we are talking about here.
