I don't think they're copying Nintendo as much as they're both Japanese companies and with that probably comes a certain aesthetic and influence in the design.

Please don't reply back to him.  It's obviously he is just trying to get a rise out of people.  And won't last long with these comments.

OT:  I don't think the light will be too bright.  Hopefully it's just a dim blue.
