My God you would think we never had a console over 399.99 on the market but the very people here to hate were backing Sony when the PS3 was launching at a higher price tag.

Just wait til after the price for PS4 is shown, not only will it be higher but in typical fashion they will completely change their stance on price.

Man, I love these threads. They make such statements funny now :)

And no more ps fans defended the $599 launch price of a ps3 back then than ms fans now do of the xbone, hence the lucklaster sales of the ps3 until the launch of the slim.

Can you backup that statement because I don't see that many Microsoft fans supporting the price tag.  I found the UK price particularly terrible so I'm still considering cancelling my preorder.

Sorry I'm terrible at looking up threads and posts from random people from sites I visit, but if you look at any of Kowenicki's posts, especially the one about inflation you'll see what I'm talking about. Several people are saying that in terms of value, it's worth the money they're  asking for since it provides one year of Live and kinect which costs a lot. Some argue that it's actually cheaper than the ps4 if you take just those two things into account. Also, several people have mentioned having pre-ordered one already, though I'm not sure if they've stated that they have an issue with the price (though the fact that they pre-ordered shows that it's not a deal breaker).

If you assume the price of the PS4 Eye ($59.99) and a one-year sub to PS+($60), the cost for the Xbox One becomes $380.00.

In case you all missed it, the price of PS+ is $60.00 for the PS4.  In the E3 presentation, Sony mentioned for just $5.00 a month...etc.  5x12=60.
