When did Sony ever promise to keep mulitplayer free for PS4? They will probably keep it free for PS3. Also, the current PS+ features are bonuses. You are putting something in to get something back. Also, all the entertainment apps like Netflix and the F2P games are not in this paywall at all, so it's not the same as Xbox Live Gold. Only paying for the Multiplayer is the same but PS+ has more value for money
