Obvously, it has affected sales negatively, and as we can see in this weeks American numbers, allowed the PS3 to pull ahead in sales (at least for this week). Now this could be the supposed "shortages", or could it be seeing the PS3 as a Blu-Ray playing, non-failing console? Who knows.
Without hardware failures, they could still be winning worldwide weekly (lol, when's the last time that happened), but speculation is all that we can do, because the RRoD is a sad reality.
