I was genuinely pretty surprised by the trailer. If you had shown it to me and said "guess which series this is from" it'd maybe have taken me 10 or more guesses to arrive at Dead Rising.
Colour replaced with muted palette. No lawnmowers with razor blades attached or electrified wheelchairs. Had a very gritty edge to it.
It looked a fine game, no doubt at all about that, but it didn't look like much of a Dead Rising game, which is a mighty shame. DR2 was a big surprise for me. My flatmate rented it on a whim and didn't like it; but I really enjoyed it because it was just pure, silly, light-hearted fun. Perhaps there's a DR2 hidden underneath all the layers of "dark & gritty" which this trailer showed.
