I personally thought it might have been because of the twitter thing; people were anxiously asking them if PS4 had the used games DRM stuff as well.
They made a joke about the entire situation and they were in a relevant position to do so after all. The quote from tretton that "PS4 won't have online checks every 24 hours" was more direct actually.
