Obviously not. And anyone who wants less competition is just lining up for a shafting in the future. Xb1 is a horror story, and if/when it does backfire due to its new integrations, the other manufacturers will learn from it, without paying a heavy price. Xbox innovated(sorta) by introducing online, albeit Dreamcast did it, the Xbox popularized it and pushed the ps2 to have online too, so you could argue that it had an effect on this generation, and creating the field of competitive multiplayer today. Just like that am sure Sony are responsible for many other shit that I can't really recall atm, same goes for Nintendo. If either of the businesses go bust, for example Sony ceases to exist, that would mean that there won't be much choice in terms of console and people will have to endure the unnecessary DRM bullshit and what can only be described as subtle living room espionage.
People need to look at a bigger picture rather than wish monopoly upon their preferred manufacturer, allowing them to shaft you knowing full well that they dont have any other competition on the market, if you are looking for a console/media box.
Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.
