Exactly what DRM do publishers control on Xbone that they cannot control on PS4?

I am taking this news to mean that the only real DRM the Xbone will have is the daily check in. I can't see 3rd party companies loading up Xbone games with DRM and not PS4. And I can't see every publisher using DRM.

Games on the XboxOne will not play if you havent logged in within 24 hours... if that isnt enough without any 3rd Party DRM... then i dont know what to say.

On the Xbox MS has (apparently but its unclear how it would actually work), a way of controlling the game and its serial, it cannot be played via CD. You must use MS's system to transfer serials/games.

This is *Not* the same as PS4, and shows how MS have led the way to implement console based DRM, which I guess some publishers have agreed on. Without these things built into the actual console, its very difficult to implement (and costly) individually.

The 24 hour check in is not DRM publishers control. I am talking about used games working or not working, online activations required or not required, loaning out games supported or not supported.. these are things publishers control on both systems. If they support them on one, they will support them on both. If they don't enforce them on one, why would they choose to enforce it on the other? The DRM they can control on Xbone, they control on PS4. The real DRM that we need to worry about. We'll know soon enough just how DRM hungry publishers actually are.

No they not, all those things you described are done for free through microsofts system publisher just has to tick some boxes, for publishers to do any of those things on PS4 it would be of great cost to themselves to implement.
