Sony outmaneuvers Microsoft on price, design, and DRM

And, honestly, that's a real shock to say. Usually it's the other way around. Usually Sony flubs up, leaks everything, and comes across as the bad guys. This year, Microsoft did all those things, while Sony, on the other hand, had great security, announced things at the exact right moment, and had tighter control on information.

Even holding on to the no-DRM information was a masterstroke.

I really think last gen left Microsoft conceited and over-confident, and Sony a bit more humble and focused. That's really all I can think of to explain the complete role reversal.

Sums it up for me so far. Xbox has definitely shown a better lineup so far IMO. But that'll come clearer in the coming months. Sony have held onto my pre order for now. (The DRM and 350 price point mean so long as a couple of launch titles look good I'll get one day 1)
