Judging from the reactions in this thread and others, it looks like many Nintendo fans have finally come to the realisation that the Wii U is actually a GC successor, not a Wii successor. Yes, people. That is what it means to be disappointed. Get used to it, because Nintendo is stuck with this brick for at least five years.

I am ahead of the curve, so I can look at these games and say that I am looking forward to most of them. Smash is trash, like usual. Still no Kim Possible, still no buy.

Probably the most accurate thing Ive read on the internet in a long time.  Not necessarily a bad thing.  The Wii was an exception, but this is who Nintendo has been, at it's core, since the N64 days.  Their first-party titles are more of the same, sure, but they're still strong and will likely be very fun to play.

It's horribly inaccurate. Sure there are parts of the U that are reminiscent of the cube, but what about DKCR:JF, SM3DW, Wii Party and Wii Fit U are??

The U is exactly what it was set out to be: a deeper and wider experience.

The point is that these games are the reason people have been buying Nintendo's consoles for many years now,  but also the reason that people don't buy them.  These are Nintendo's bread and butter titles, they continue to make them in the same way that we see COD year after year, and the same people continue to eat them up generation after generation.  But in terms of the overall video game market they only have limited appeal.

It's all about the game.
