The Wii U could indeed benefit as a second console for core gamers due to the lower cost of entry and no peripheral costs for online, though Nintendo's job is to target markets that the other two are ignoring (and continue to ignore, from what this E3 demonstrated)
(the correct answer for ignored markets is "people who want games without airstrikes", btw)
