Sony has explicitly stated that used game DRM will be left up to publishers. They've repeated this a few times already.

And I guarantee publishers are going to jump on it. This is Sony's way of deflecting blame. Well.. that's what it looks like so far. We'll have to see how publishers react once both consoles are released.

Sony never said any such thing. That was Microsoft's stance. Sony stated there is no online requirement and no restrictions on used games, trading games, lending games etc.
