What part of the bolded are you disputing?

On PC, some games have DRM, some do not. Is your argument that the PC inherently has DRM?

Of course PC has DRM. 360 and PS3 also have DRM. Are there games on these platforms with DRM? Yes? Then there is DRM. Not sure where some people are getting confused. Of course, catching feelings over corporations can lead to muddled logic I guess.

I think you're doing a disservice by speaking so generally. If my company has a server and you play my game online, and I ask you to input a code, so I can check against a database of allowed codes, that doesn't mean the platform has drm, it means my servers do. Anything that is digital has the potential of having drm, there isn't a single thing that cannot be gated. That doesn't mean everything has DRM.

Now, regarding this ps4 vs xb1 drm debate, xb1 is 100% drm just based on the fact that it needs to check in. The entire system is gated. Conversely, the information we have about ps4 "drm" is that ps4 games would be managed by the publisher, which could be as simple as a serial number, or something else.

If we take your implication that all platforms have drm, then yes, we could say that ps4 indeed has drm. But since every platform has it, and is the standard, we could call it "drm lvl 1". Looking at the xb1, we would then be warranted to call the system "drm level 2", since it goes beyond, and makes it mandatory.
