Exactly. It's a short-term appeasement of fans that would've gotten your console anyway with the long-term result being a lower initial installed base (due to higher prices) or greater loss on hardware sold (due to higher costs) or a combination of both.

And all of these difficulties due to the incredibly outspoken fans who demand this feature.

You are honestly this concerned about the ten people that are 'demanding' bc that you want them to shut up?

You yourself gave a perfect explanation of why this (very probably) will never happen. But burying the idea...?
