I hear Nintendo is really good about making people's situation right when something like that happens, if you have the broken 3ds it would be easier, if not they may still help you

Sadly, I'm not sure if they're really that good at helping people in situations like this. I didn't wanna get his hopes up. I've heard something like you have to get a poilce report if your 3DS is stolen. I don't they they can help much if it's lost.

It can never hurt to try, though. Especially if it might be linked to a Club Nintendo account.
