You shouldn't really trust that something will stay put while on a rollercoaster especially if it has some weight. I recall going on Kingda Ka and having coins in my pocket. At the end, all the coins were gone.
I really hope they announce a 3DS direct right after the Nintendo direct. I'm fairly hyped. Less than 30 hours remain
