Why not? I think at this point it could go either way withe a 24 hour check on digital games, but personally think that digital games will not need that.
Are indie games seriously like that on the 360? That doesn't sound right to me (I've never bought one though so I don't know).

I'm not sure why they would require it for digital games, except if they make sure everyone is connecting to their servers regularly (even digital only gamers) then they have a better shot against piracy. And as it is on the indie games, I don't know why they wouldn't do it again.
I only found out they did this last week, which I guess shows that the always online stuff can slip under the radar pretty easily.

I was really curious as to why Indie games required you to be online on the 360. What I found was that they require you to be online because Indie games aren't certified thus they need to be checked I guess. Everything else is certified and doesn't require online except when you are downloading the title. That part I don't see changing in the future.
