Yeah, it was a E3 worth forgetting for the Nintendo fan, but at least we got some memes out of it.

That was the year that E3 became the "E3 Media and Business Summit", and Nintendo took it literally. They focused on their mainstream games, and on the big-name third-party titles like GTA, CoD, etc, rather than on gamers. Everything was focused on the mainstream media and on investors. Hence why gamers disliked it so much.

Not that I'm excusing Nintendo - they really should have made it clear ahead of time, and provided some sort of event for gamers.
