I don't know how Sony will implement DRM without having some kind of always online. The fact that you can completely be offline and play PS4 games tells me that there isn't any kind of serious DRM like the Xbone. The only real reason why the Xbone needs to do the 24 hour check is to make sure of the status of your games.
