This is very true. What Microsoft is doing is no different then any other company that makes high end products designed for first world countries. They shouldn't be attacked for going for a specific target audience. Their target audience is a). People who have plenty of money and b). People who think they have plenty of money (these are the type of people that buy nice products on credit usually). It sucks for these "underprivileged gamers" because they essentially aren't allowed to enjoy that product (or they have to go through a lot of trouble to enjoy it) but they have plenty of other options. If we went by the logic of "If I someone else isn't able to enjoy something, then I shouldn't be able to either." then we wouldn't be able to enjoy anything technology or service based because someone else is out there that can't enjoy it. |
Gamers for a big part have always been students or people around that age, MS is disoriented about what their target audience is me thinks.
