Eh, that's like saying it's stupid to buy a disc-based console game on Day 1 because it will eventually be on sale. The prinicple of desire is the same in both cases - if you want a game that just came (or have wanted it), you'll buy it. I don't think it's stupid to do so just because it will, eventually, be on sale.

You can get ANY game day 1 for less than what Steam charges.

Quick look at Green Man Gaming website. See Skyrim Legendary Edition on the front page. Look at price: $59.99. Same price as on Stream. Take a deeper look at newly released games: Remember Me at $49.99. Same as on Steam. Grid 2? Metro Last Light? Both $49.99 on both services. 

So yeah... The heck are you talking about?
