1st: This goes for EVERY console ever made.
2nd: You complain that you can't play these games when MS decides to shut XBL down (How likely is this in the first place?) AND you say Steam is better because of this in the same paragraph. What do you think will happen when Steam decides to kill its service? (Just as likely as MS shutting down XBL)
3rd: I can't play my old PC games on newer hardware, sorry. I have a great collection of MS Dos, Windows 95, Windows 2000 games that won't run on Windows 7 or Windows 8

dos box and compatibility mode. it takes some tweaking but it can be done. i dont often since i do have legacy consoles with some of those games. which i own. its a bad compairioson but i can how some would conclude it, plus the sales, M$ cant compete with steam sales and i doubt they would want to.
