I haven't watched it yet because my wife has a friend over, but I will. If he only plays DRM-free PC games then I take back all I've said.

Yep he spoke about DRM free PC games. He spoke about the benefits of having a console as well and how disappointed he was in MS.

After watching, I take back my almost take back. He somewhat whitewashes the PC thing. Yep he says there's DRM-free games on PC, but he doesn't entirely repudiate DRM on PC. He advocates people to support DRM-free games, but he doesn't take the step further in advocating a boycott of PC games with DRM, incluiding, obviously, Steam. Instead he gives Steam a free pass because they do sales. The fundamental thing is that PC was the thin edge of the wedge with DRM. That it gained a foothold on PC meant it was only a matter of time before it reared its ugly head on console. He's still being a hypocrit because he still recommends people drop one DRM platform for another platform (and service) that uses DRM.

PC is the DRM evil master and Xbone is the DRM evil pupil. Now the pupil has become more DRM evil than the master. So suddenly the evil master is just a bit misunderstood, now that the evil pupil has far exceeded the master's evilest plans.

I liked his point that the game retailers (all of them) are pretty screwed. There is no point in buying a Xbone game on disc, Disc:DL sales are going to skew massively towards DL on Xbone compared to 360. CoD will probably sell a few million discs, and 10 million+ through the Live store. Specialist video game retailers are dead as far as Xbone goes. If PS4 goes this way then Nintendo alone won;t be able to prop them up.

I find it ironic that MS fans are on here all defensive, when it's one of the biggest Xbox fans mon the web that is kicking MS to the curb. Ultimately all the things Sony and Nintendo fans say on the internet about Xbone is just white noise that has virtually zero impact on the potential for Xbone to succeed. But a like Angry Joe rejecting Xbone so spectacularly does far more to damage Xbones chances than all the Sony and Nintendo fans put together ever could.

His point about the PC isn't that it's not DRM filled. It's that why go the console route if they're basically going the same route as the PC, but with even more barriers (paying a subscription to be allowed to play online with Live, having to go online once a day, etc...). What's the point buying a console that offers no benefits over a PC?

Better spend that money on a better gaming PC and enjoy the infrastructure advantage of that platform over what the XBO offers (things like mods, free online play, huge indie library, better graphics, local LAN parties, ...). A PC is also used for much more than just games.

So in essence,MS really need to bring some really uber awesome exclusive games to the table if they really want to convince people that they should accept their lack of consideration for consumers and just "deal with it".
