This is pretty much how I feel. I don't really like Steam but some games require it and they do have some awesome deals at times which make buying a Steam game worth the trouble.
However, the BIG difference is that, with a PC, I'm not always limited to Steam. You can't just compare the XO to Steam as though they both exist on closed platforms. I can buy from Green Man, or Amazon, or GoG, or grab a Humble Indie Bundle. Steam is just one of many competitors, which is only a good thing for consumers.
