Steam has offline mode.
Steam is guaranteed to have cheap games over time, something that MS is going to have to really push/prove for people to "jump in".
Only advantages so far for XBox 1 are:
Exclusives from 1st Party
TImed Exclusives
The ability to "share" or "directly sell" games to other users. You can't trade in your steam games, you are stuck with them. But again, the price negates alot of this.
All XBox One games will have discs, but oddly enough once you install the game your pretty much done with them. Most PC games are download only format.
It's just that simple.
