Don't bother quoting/replying to me, I have no intention of debating with the same people rehashing the same whinging that they've been doing for the last 3 weeks. We'll see by the end of the year just how many people are really bothered by these policies outside of gaming forums.

There you go, it's what posting in a forum is for right?

But surely you understand that people don't want to buy a console that will benefit them after 5 years time, thats almost a consoles' entire lifecycle. And since i've read every single post bar the last 30, there's not much bashing here, people just voicing opinions and invoking their rights as consumers, as they should.

I posted my opinion, I have no interest in discussing it with the vast majority of people in this thread, that's my perogative

I picked a figure out of the air, it will likely be sooner.  Just like last generation and the generation before that, Sony will desperately try to implement the features on their console that Microsoft implement first.  It's not hard to see why this happens given Microsoft are arguably the biggest software developer in the world though, is it?

I have no problems with legitimate concerns but a lot is just hating for the sake of it.  I mean complaining that you MAY not be able to play XBO games in 20 years time, seriously?  Two small points on that for example, first we don't know that will be the case, second how many people actually play on 20 year old consoles, especially with the modern era of emulation where you can improve your experience over gaming on the original hardware anyway.  I don't hear these concerns about Steam and it's servers in the event Valve ever went under yet those same Steam fans will hate on the 360 for this policy, it's hypocrisy at its finest.
