Also, Retro never made a game that has as much of an impact in a generation as Uncharted did. Record-breaking number of awards as well and influenced so many other games. Not to mention that Naughty Dogs hit that height several times.

To reinvent an existing IP in a way that brings  in new gamers while retaining old fans can be just as difficult  as creating a new IP.

Metroid Prime also won an immense number of awards, and is widely considered one of the greatest games of all time.

And Uncharted's impact wasn't that big.


It is fairly big. The only other game that has been more influential is CoD. Heck, even DoA5 has segments influenced by Uncharted.

 

Edit: A shame that Retro Studios hasn't been able to re-reach that height they reached more than 10 years ago....
