Azerth said: So why are people so mad at this cuz it kind of sounds like sony. The only difference is they dont require a check in and they dont have preferred retailers |
People are mad because it requires a checkin and they have to use licensed retailers.

I can understand the check in and i also wouldnt be surprised if it gets extended but the retailer one i dont get espically since we dont know whos on it or wat the require ments to get on the list are

The retailer one is a little bit tricky
Imagine you have a game. It sells for 60 Dollar. Now you can't just sell it on ebay/Amazon for 50 Dollar. Because you have to sell it to say Gamestop. They offer you 10 Dollar. They are going to resell it for 50 Dollar to someone else.
Result: You got screwed over and possibly also GameStop because they pay to reimburse the Developer.
But who would sell a new game for 10 bucks anyway. So basically you buy a game and it instantly loses 80% of its value.
Maybe its not going to be as harsh but I dont see why it wouldnt be that harsh.

But we dont know if ebay or amazon are on the list. For all we know when you sell through them they send you a code that allows you to use the game no matter what it could also make it unuse able to the seller.
second we dont know if retailers will give more or not since they will getting more customers to not only buy but also sell
ird whos say ms doesnt start to do sales like steam maybe not to there degree but along the lines. Everyone seems to be under the assumption that everything will stay the same

I assume Microsoft and Publishers make this to get more money from their customers. So I guess whatever happens in the end it will cost us more money. Sure we could eventually get some games cheaper (or not) but at what costs ? Your whole games collection becomes worthless.
Exceptional the online policy nothing would affect me. I never sell my games anyway. But its kind of good to know I didnt burn my money. And some of my old games actually get more expensive every day.
I think that the MS business model is horrible and I really hope they fail massively with it. Even if I actually could manage to live with it I dont like the restrictions and the fact that there will eventually be situations where the restrictions will affect me.

I can atleast understand that But like i said i wouldnt be surprised if it gets extended. I think they are trying to do the samething that they are doing with kinect were they now know that everyone has one well by having a checkin dev wont fear using the cloud stuff
