I don't think you will have to do this for more than 2 minutes with your phone. Enable wifi sharing on phone, connect xbox to internet, verify, done. New 24 hour cycle begins. Shouldn't eat your data or waste battery...

I think its a viable solution for the times internet goes down for more than 24 hours when youre gaming

The reason why it needs to be online once per day is because Microsoft most likely doesn't want you to share your games with friends and family console and then go offline with that console and play the single player games like that while you trade them in or sell them. Steam on the PC doesn't have to deal with this as it doesn't have game resale or sharing...

I appreciate your effort in trying to convince me that the online once a day thing isn't bad, but I just can't accept a console that is so restrictive.

what happens if something happens in my personal life and i cant afford to pay my internet bill for that month.. Dont tell me i shouldnt be playing video games anyway.. if anything i should be staying inside while not working making money to save money.. instead i have to suffer because i got behind on bills.. that kinda sucks.. Ms isnt really being considerate to people and their personal ilifestyle and what they may or may not have going on at the time

what about Joe schmo who lives in X neighborhood and can only get clearwire which sucks by the way and thats the only internet service provider in that area? I know people who live in the country and cant even get internet no company has even been out there to lay lines in the area.. youre telling me to hook up to my mobile device which charges for data usage? Thats absurd / Im not even thinking about worldwide Im thinking about my own neighborhood and how this affects those people and when i say you i dont mean you I mean MS
