I really don't want to pile on the Microsoft fans here. As a Vita and Wii U owner, I know how frustrating all the doom and gloom can be.

But there's no way to spin this news into a positive. At best it's an inconvenience. At worst it's a huge slap to the face of consumers, property rights, and the millions of people who don't have a steady internet connection, or no internet connection at all.

there is a way to "spin it"

my console is always online with or without the need for it and i don't rent games. so, nothing of that interests me but now, my brothers who live hundreds of kilometers away can buy an xbox for themselve or their kids and play all the games i bought. and we can play online against each other with only one bought copy.

sounds like a great possibility for me or not?

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. It could be like the old Xbox Live family plan for all we know. And Microsoft didn't say if that service would be free or not.

In any event, even with such a service the One isn't worth it, at least not to me. I sincerely hope you and your family enjoy it, but I just can't support a machine that adopts so many anti-consumer measures.
