Well, clarification is better than all the mixed signals we got after the reveal which led to many a heated argument around here. So kudos to them on that.
I was honestly not expecting these rumours to come true though. Wasn't the most recent number of active Xbox Live accounts something like 46m, compared to the ~77m we have sold here. They're happy to just give up those customers; or are they assuming that they're not going to be the early adopters and between now and when they do decide to buy the new Xbox, they'll be connected?
Aside from that, this all just seems un-necessarily complicated. I'm not sure I fully understand the deal with used games. So amazon/eBay sales are impossible, or...?
Makes me worry that Sony will follow suit, too.
