If there's an online client for every third party game on the PS4, then what's the difference? You still wouldn't be able to play offline like with the new Xbox, the only difference is that a few selected games would work offline while the majority wouldn't. Anyway, we don't know yet if Sony is implementing or not any kind of DRM or how it works, but if the RFID patent is used on the PS4, you can expect no need for a online client for 3rd party games, since the disc would lock itself without the need of internet.

Not every third party wants to implement DRM, or at least I would suppose so. Many of them are hearing the crowd response from the net because quite a few of them actually listen and report back to their publishers. Activision and EA are the only publishers we can expect to force this on us. If they wanted to put DRM in a game they would enforce it on Nintendo as well via client, so yes it is different. MS is doing the work for them against us so they dont have to and forcing an azure network on Gamestop and used game sellers worldwide.

Sony and Nintendo would be more so in the same boat if this situation were to take place. As far as we know Sony and Nintendo are the only consoles where a game can be enjoyed offline majorly. On the Xbox you've been locked down and really, as it has always been the Xbox is useless without online as it is.

Good for you to believe that. There is no point for a publisher, not to do that. Sony knows it, but they will still play it like it is their "choice" :) Even Sony, as a publisher is going to do that too.
