The difference is that since the hoopla on MS started, Sony has specifically come out and stated officially that they are not requiring any form of internet connection and that in itself removes the entire DRM argument.
EDIT: read linked patent (why not put critical info in OP... kinda what its for). No internet required due to usage of RFID tags. However, I still don't think Sony is doing anything after the fallout MS has undergone.
