its just weird to me cause these people have not played the game and say the score does add up to the rest of reviews which is BS cause not everyone will like the game its just giving a headcahe cause of these freaking stuipd people don't know the meaning of the words opinion and enjoyment whats you guy's take on this

I find this pretty ironic and hilarious.

So, basically a reviwer expresses his opinion and people disagree with him and call him names, such as "stupid" (I'm sure), and then you get upset with their opinions and you call them "stupid" yourself. All it's left is for someone to call you the same for your opinion and you have a never ending chain of irony.

So, let me ask you this. Why are they stupid and the revewer is not? If any opinion is allowed, then all is fair.

Speaking of opinions, there's a huge difference between my uneducated opinion of a videogame and the opinion of review, who is a professional and gets paid for it. Even if a vg journalist doens't personally like a game, he has to be professional and judge based on certain standards/using certain criteria. As a tutor I mark essays that I really dislike, but give them a good score because of a number of reasons such as use of references, writing style, points raised, use of English etc, but also have to look at them comparatively. If I give someone a 70, it means that it's overall better than someone who got a 70. Similarly, reviewers who give a 70 to game suggest that it's worse than a number of games they have reviewed, at least recently. The final score has to also take into account graphics, sound, voice acting, story, length, etc and thus shouldn't give a 70 just cause they didn't personally like something. That's why most revewers tend to agree with one another, because there are certain common criteria they are expected to use for their professional reviews.

On a personal level, I don't care what Last of Us gets, because I'll never play it (it's genre is simly not my cup of tea), but that doens't mean that I don't mind when reviewers give whatever score they please, just cause they feel like it at the moment. I'm not saying that all reviewers should give the same score, but giving for example Journey a 20/100 just cause, when it's highly praised by the vast majority of the reviewers is not ok with me and yes I will complain about it.

Writing a review is not just about liking a game, but most importantly providing a good analysis of the game that may help gamers decide whether it's worth their money.
