I have a feeling that Microsoft will sell well, even better than the PS4 because of its TV services (in the USA). I think many people are ready to embrace such a device. MS may not get it perfect at first, but they will make it better as it goes a long. Having said that, I think many of the paranoid/hardcore gamers will probably stick with PC or pick up a PS4 with a Nintendo as a second console. (I'm a bit paranoid. I have no facebook/smartphone yet)
I have a feeling that it will fragment the market for those that just wish to have a specialized gaming device vs and those that want a device that can do it all and take control of your living room. Like I said before, I think the Xbox One is fighting for your living room space while the PS4 is fighting for your bedroom space, but since people like to take sides, lack of funds, or personal tastes, people will only buy one and try to justify it as the only console they need/want (This includes myself).
I wish luck to all three console makers and hope DRM & surveillance can be kept in check so competition maybe will be kept alive.
