| MonstaMack said: Well you said to stay away from launch stock, but if you want a system day one why not warranty it for another 3 years? The cost is $50, which will be lower then the scalping prices once the system sells out, and judging by low yields will be hard to find out. It's not a waste of money at all. Your also assuming I can turn that $50 into $400 with ease, I guess you should teach me something about investing outside of 401k and CDs. My CDS require a higher amount of investment. |
Economies of scale.
Its not this one device you save the warranty money but ALL times you would buy warranties. That's hundreds if not thousands as you buy new stuff. Then out of 10 or so devices let's say you get unlucky and one finally breaks. Well, you should have a lot saved to rebuy.
$50 saved on gameconsole. $300 saved on fridge. $2000 on a car. etc. Save it all, earn residual income from it and have it for a real rainy day.
Also, if you think it will be likely broken in three years... then just don't buy it. For fuck's sake, grow some balls and tell MS "no, you will not except a product with another 30% defect rate".
