They don't "like" Microsoft.  Sakaguchi took their money to start a studio and made the two games required.  He then moved on to Wii for his next title.  There really is no point in buying Mistwalker for anyone.  They are essentially an "idea" studio.  They only have a handful of workers and outsource most of the programing to other developers.  The value of Mistwalker is in Sakaguchi's writing and producing and his good friend Uematsu who does the music for him, not in their programing expertese or valuable IPs.  You could buy the company and Sakaguchi could then go do something else and you would essentially have nothing.

Now, signing Sakaguchi to a multi-title deal would be a great move for any company.  Doubtful MS would do it though, since the first attempt didn't work out so great.  Sony is unlikely since they are tight with Square.  Nintendo is the most likely to get Sakaguchi's next several games with Nintendo most likely acting as publisher like they did with Last Story. I would expect 2-3 Mistwalker games on Wii U.

I didn't see your post! The VGChartz buddy didn't warn me!

Well, I think Lost Odyssey was profitable, even if it didn't met the sales expected. But yeah, I do get your point in the first paragraph. Then I reaffirm myself, Nintendo should totally go for a multi-title deal. Mistwalker titles are pretty awesome, even the IOS and Blue Dragon were good.
Of course, something important would be to LOCALIZE them. It took Operation Rainfall to Nintendo to realise that people demanded the game.

Mistwalker are excellent! Just having the key people of FF makes me feel so nostalgic playing their games. Yup, Nintendo needs their next games on Wii U, and needs to localise them as you said. I'd like to think NOA learned their lesson. I think we'll be getting Xenoblade 2 day 1 confirmed, and Last Story 2 most likely as well. They could build these games into the new Final Fantasies.
