I want to believe it but I just DON'T there can't be a reason why MS can't engineer better cooling for its console. I understand that edram at 1.6 billion transistors makes things hotter but it shouldn't make things too bad. The alienware x51 which is just a bit bigger than the phat ps3 has a 2.5 tflop gpu and a core i7 cpu so why can't MS engineer for something that has prob. 2 times less tdp than the alienware? IDK but i'll leave it to being a rumor at best.
