hmm, well I suppose the Xbox One will try to convince people to watch TV live and this is a huge problem for TV networks right now in the states, since more and more people are watching their favorite TV shows online, or through their DVR and thus advertisers are paying less for ad spots during TV shows. Also advertisers would pay a HUGE amount of money to get to the male 18-34 audience since that is the demographic that watches the least TV (excluding sports).

Watching TV broadcast are on the decline and Xbox One will only help cable providers and studios invigorate their offerings. Cable providers and studios will be wise to work with MS to help them gain more audience. More audience equals more advertisment money. Xbox One wins, Television as a media wins.

Exactly! Well if the PS4 offers live tv then TV networks and providers would be wise to work with both Sony and Microsoft because the current TV ratings system is really hurting TV networks, especially the major networks (CBS, ABC, NBC, and Fox) since they have bigger costs in developing new shows.

I guess Xbox will only win depending on its sales. If they are weak then networks won't see an advantage of working with MS.
