8gigs of Gddr5 wont be cheap. Hell a 6gb GDDR graphics card runs around 1k. Sony isn't going to be able to give all the things in the PS4 for less than 499 imo and that is still with them taking a significant loss.
The more I learn about PS4, it reminds me of the Dreamcast and I am starting to think this will be Sony's last gen as a console maker and I don't think they can make it 3rd party unlike Sega
