Pretty much all of Sony's E3 presence in '06.

I was a dyed-in-the-wool Sony fanboy up until that point. Prior to that E3, I had a sheet of paper taped to my door where I tabulated all the money I had saved up in anticipation for getting one: the ink from the marker is still on the door even now. I was sure that it wouldn't cost any more than the Premium 360 SKU @ $400, and that the line-up of games would be absolutely amazing in the wake of the PS2's complete dominance.

Then at the actual conference, what do we get? $599 dollars for the full featured box, and an pathetic software showcase. The whole thing screamed "FUCK YOU WE DON'T CARE! WE SOLD PS2'S OUT THE ASS! WE CAN DO WHATEVER WE WANT AND YOU MORONS WILL STILL BUY IT!"

I didn't follow gaming news nearly as much as I do now. But the level of arrogance and blind stupidity told me more than enough. At that point, most of my hype died off. I ended up getting the PS3 a year later, mainly because my parents helped foot the bill in a big way and I didn't want to deal with any red ring nonsense from the 360. And then I ended up using it for PS2 games 90% of the time until DMC4 and Street Fighter 4 came out.

Looking back, my view of Sony, and the industry in general, never really recovered from that. Mainly due to all the bullshit that this generation has dumped on us over the past 8 years.
