There is a mathematical probability that "life" as we know it exists or existed in the Universe besides Earth. You don't need to "believe" in that, it's a fact.
Now, "intelligent" life that one is debatable, but likely, depending on what one defines as "intelligent".
The one I don't "believe" is that Intelligent alien beings have visited earth. The distances are astronomical. The energy requirement will be substantial and will not be wasted on stealth missions.
