Pretty sure Counter Strike has been popularized for its one life rounds, and doesn't have a problem with camping, at least no more than games with multiple lives. So did Socom. The point is one life only encourages camping when implemented poorly. It's great when implemented effectively and does not create problems with camping. Speaking from my own experience.

That being said, I do hope there are modes with multiple lives simply to relax and learn the mechanics of the multiplayer.
