Pretty pointless thread imo (which is just imo btw, it's not fact :) )
If it wasn't for MS, we'd be in a world dominated by apple and you'd be hating on apple. If MS wasn't around, someone else would have stepped in to be the "Apple" to the "Microsoft" that Apple would have been if Bill gates didn't make windows.
If it wasn't for MS, we'd be in a console world dominated by Sony. Nintendo would have never innovated to differentiate itself from it's now 2 competitors and we wouldn't have the Wii, because when Nintendo only had Sony to compete with, we saw the innovation-less N64 and Gamecube years.
Be thankful that competition exists and not who the competition is, because they are making your favourite companies stay on the ball.
