The problem is later on in the consoles life as is seen with the 360. Also the casual gamer will not have faith in the Xbox brand "keeping" its "exclusives". Its still a positive for M$ no matter how you want to spin it. The question is, is it really worth the investment?
Those franchises always sell better on 360 more so than other games. This timed exclusivity could be a big factor in this.
