| S.T.A.G.E. said: From EA that is......I have a sinking feeling deep down inside that Microsofts most notable titles at E3 will be third party exclusives that they've purchased. I recall MS saying that they are spending a billion dollars in games and they have 15 exclusives coming out in the first year. The average AAA game costs 60 million so five of those cost well around 300 million which is around what MS paid for Rare. This leaves money to spend on two to three exclusives or timed exclusives and plenty left to spare on Kinect and XBLA titles which are dirt cheap compared and highly profitable to bank on. Halo 4's budget was over 100 million so my average could be wrong for the Black Tusk game. I am sure the third party + timed exclusive content for EA Sports MS is paying EA for could amount somewhere around 200-300 million all together.
Nothing is clear on this, this is just a feeling. What do you guys think? |
I think I feel the same way as well (Just with games in general, not just EA). As a JRPG fan and speaking from the JRPG players perspective, I can look back and see Xbox 360 released about 6 games that I never had a chance to play since I was only on PS3.
I believe Microsoft will repeat history by making deals with developers in all the major regions to create variety. I mean with thier first party line-up lets be honest, Its not that diverse. But Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant, and Magna Carta 2 were all games that made me think, "Dang...maybe I should buy and Xbox." (And this is coming from a Sony fanboy)
