Inside his brain I agree
I believe he thought he was riding a carriage and thats why he was sitting in the front. (thought it was a carriage because not used to technology yet JK xD )
He just didn't realize that there are no horses/camels but it didn't seem to bother him much since he found some strange device called telephone and was trying to figure out how to use it (thats why he makes the strange movements) and because he didn't understand it he became angry and tried to kick the air.
